Some of its tasks are:
- Tender for medicines , vaccines and inoculation , chemicals , pesticides , artificial kidney solution , psychological and narcotic drugs and radioactive isotopes
- Present the items of the medicine booklet, inoculation and vaccines booklet, chemical booklet, radioactive isotope booklet and pesticide booklet which have not been laid in the gulf tenders.
- Present the tender of the National Unified Procurement Company(NUPCO)
- Present mother's milk tenders
- Receive the orders of the areas for the unregistered brands in the directory after filling in the form prepared for that, studying and forwarding it to the committee coordinator to be presented to the ministry directory committee.
- Receive the patients' orders whether it is from the office of the minister, from the urgent telegrams or from the health areas.
- Work on addressing the medicine shortages if happened , and transfer them
- Receive the orders of different departments like the Preventive Medicine to be ready for any emergencies such as medicine of malaria , AIDS , pesticides and participating in national campaigns to vaccinate with various vaccines
- Check the stock of the basic vaccines in the areas and continuously make sure of the availability of the needed amounts of the vaccines for the vulnerable; if there is any shortage of such vaccines the Department of Pharmaceutical Planning immediately solves these problems either by rushing the importers or transferring from the areas.
- Take the notes of the areas about the imported brands and forward them to the executive office and also the central laboratory and follow them. Such problems can be avoided by, if proven, by excluding such brands.
